Big Skies Camping & Glamping is a small, friendly, family run CL site located in the rural countryside on the outskirts of the Fenland town of March, Cambridgeshire catering for adults, children and well-behaved dogs on leads.
We offer the most amazing, relaxing, tranquil, and peaceful open countryside views with some of the most outstanding sunrises and sunsets right to the horizon and we are frequently visited by numerous wildlife like deer, foxes, buzzards, red kites and owls. After the sun has set, we have very low light pollution being in the middle of the Fens away from the towns and cities giving us pitch black skies allowing fantastic star gazing and satellite spotting opportunities at night.
We offer 5 very large open plan grass pitches, which can easily accommodate a large awning, set in 9-acres of grassland. The grass pitching area is located away from our home at the bottom of our land. The communal service point, drinking water and rubbish bins are situated on the way in from the road to your pitch. Owners and their dogs can enjoy a variety of countryside walks from the site via Fenland B roads.
Located within easy access of the thriving Fenland market town of March, or alternatively via a picturesque riverside walk to the town centre alleviating the need to park or drive home after an evening out (approximately 1.9miles). March has recently been revamped and has plenty to offer regarding eating out offering Turkish, Indian, Chinese, Thai restaurants, numerous Fish and Chip shops, KFC, Dominos, Costa & Greggs and other Takeaways. Supermarkets include Tesco, Sainsbury, Lidl, Aldi, Co-op, Iceland, Budgens, Farm Foods and numerous Pubs and Cafes.
March has a Market twice a week (Wednesdays and Saturdays) offering a variety of stalls. March also has its own station allowing rail access to local areas like Ely, Peterborough, Cambridge, Kings Lynn, Norwich etc, for relaxing sightseeing or shopping day trips out.

4 Nights Stay - Really Relaxing
We would recommend staying on this CL if you are looking for a quiet relaxing break. The site owner Nigel was very friendly and informative and could not be any more helpful. At the time of our visit access from the road was a little tight as you have to negotiate getting off the road then turning to get around and up the side of the green building (like an S bend). The facilities for water, waste and rubbish are excellent, located next to the buildings, which is a very long way from where the pitches are located at the very bottom of the Airfield. The site has all round wide open views of the countryside and is extremely quiet. The sunsets are fabulous. The site is very dog friendly. We found the short walk into town very easy and simply followed the river. The town of March has everything including lots of places to eat and drink, numerous take aways and supermarkets. We really enjoyed our stay at Big Skies and would definitely stay here again. THANKS
A stay in May
Only had time for a one night stay as site picked at random on a route going south. Lovely peaceful stay and would have stayed longer. Nice walk into town for evening meal and drinks, friendly hosts, good facilities on site if required. Nice fuss free site in good location, managed to squeeze in a visit to Sandringham the next day . Lots of places of interest in the area, will use site again. Many thanks.
Mini break
Just home from a mini break at this lovely site so peaceful & relaxing great sunsets the owners are very friendly & welcoming we will definitely be returning 😊
