Lovely peaceful dog friendly site
We booked one of the enclosed pitches as we have a dog. Great idea as we could let her go in and out of the van without having to be tethered. Michelle and Sean were very friendly and helpful and Sean made us a delicious wholemeal loaf. Quiet location with nice walk into the village and along the river. Would definitely stay here again when in the area.
5*all round
We’ve just come back from this cl, we was in an enclosed plot as we had 3 dogs it was an absolute godsend Shaun and Michelle are always on hand to help, it’s a beautiful cl and if we are nr there again we will book it again
Perfect place
Our first trip it In our new to us caravan, thought we would try this place has it had enclosed pitch for the dogs. We found it very peaceful with countryside views and enjoyed the visits from the red kites. The walks along the river are easily accessible and quiet. Michelle was at the roadside to greet us and Sean was waiting for us at the pitch, very friendly couple who are there if you need them. To gain access and egress by vehicle all you need to do is message the owners and they will open and close the gates for you making it feel a secure site. Well worth a visit even if it’s just to enjoy the countryside.
A great place for relaxing and enjoying the peace
Just stayed here over the weekend and what a lovely stay it was (one of many more to come we hope). We were greeted by Michelle and Sean upon arrival and they are both very helpful and easy going. This CL site is lovely and really well looked after. It is so peaceful being right in the middle of the countryside with only bird song and the sounds of the nearby peacock. What made it for us though was the pitch. There are two fully enclosed and fenced off pitches suitable for dog owners. In the 12 years that we have been touring I don't think we have ever come across this before, what a great idea. Our dog is a very nervous rescue and we usually have to keep him on his lead and watch him like a hawk but with this pitch it was lovely as we could leave our caravan door open or snooze on our deckchairs without worry. I wish more sites had pitches like this. All in all a great site.
Peaceful with good facilities.
Have stayed twice at this CL and have found it very peaceful. There are 2 pitches that are surrounding by a fence with a gate so dogs can be off lead on the pitch. We find this a great feature and are happy to pay extra for it. The rest of the site is well maintained and includes all of the essentials like CDP and bins in good condition along with a drive over grey waste point. Electric is metered. There are walks along rivers and public footpaths over fields but we couldn’t get anywhere with these without the need to walk on roads. There is a nearby village with shop and pub. It’s possible to drive to numerous places, we had a day in Ely. We found the free car parking a bit of an issue on Saturday as no spaces available. We eventually found a paid car park which did have space. There is wildlife like chickens and pigs on site along with an Owl which you can see flying around on occasion. Overall great and we’d be happy to go again.
A Little gem of a site so peaceful
We had seven nights at this lovely peaceful adult only site, The owners Sean and Michelle are very helpful even delivering the fresh bread to your unit that can be purchased fresh from the oven along with free range eggs from their own chickens. The site is handy to visit Peterborough, Ely, Cambridge, KingsLynne, Huntingdon, along with many other places of interest. If your lucky as we were you get to witness the barn owl in flight along with other wildlife. We certainly would recommend this little gem of a site. Just be carefull traveling the Fen roads as they are very uneven in places but what an experience and worth the travel to this lovely little site that so much thought as been given to it by the owners to make your stay enjoyable.
A blast of peace and quiet
What a wonderful place to unwind after the rigours of being in the capital city, just what the doctor ordered! In buckets!! Lucky with the weather too, In ordering the site I got one of the pitches with little fence around it ( beware dangerous campervan haha! ) everything to hand, pitches level, as a self contained unit only used power (16amp) and water ( again was in pen) there’s a service point for waste water, and toilet emptying unit too, I’m sure I spied a mini golf course, nature on your door step, lovely couple with fountain of knowledge, Pillbox been setup for reminder of dark days of ww2, it’s one I will be using again in the future, thank you, as getting around if you are use to fens the areas roads can be mixed blessing, but the site bless!!
A peaceful couple of days
The site is quiet and peaceful. Very low levels of light pollution if you are into star gazing. Ours was a last minute booking for a spur of the moment get away. Clear instructions about arrival and pitching. We had a level hardstanding pitch, we didnt need EHU so just £10 a night. Unfortunately we couldnt use the drive over grey waste on leaving without messing with pipes because our outlet is on the nearside, away from the drain. A word of warning for those not used to fenland roads - the roads around Benwick are pretty awful - not so much potholes but very uneven, bumpy, with large cracks very largely caused by subsidence. Be prepared to drive slowly and be aware of the road surface and camber. We would use the site again.
Nice peaceful site
Site is very easy to find and access, Sean and Michelle are very helpful and friendly. The site is very peaceful
Excellent 5 Nights
Thank you Sean and Michelle for allowing us to pitch up on your great CL site. We were fortunate enough to secure a fully fenced in pitch, this was amazing for Nala to wander in and out at her leisure. We enjoyed the local area, had a pint or two in The 5 Alls, in Benwick, had two meals in the George in March which was excellent value. But most of all we loved the tranquility of a beautifully kept site. Sadly, due to the rain I never got to play pitch & putt, next time hey. However we loved the wildlife and we even got our own fly past of the Lancaster. Thank you once again, and £10 per night is a bargain! X See you again
