Reviews
Love this site
Our second stay, the first time we came for cycling in the summer, this time for walking with the beautiful autumn colours. Westonbirt Arboretum is worth a visit at this time of year, and there are lots of walking routes n the vicinity, including sections of the Cotswold Way. The Dursley area has a dramatic landscape with all the scarp slopes, but is a quieter part of the Cotswolds. Coaley village has a good pub, and a great community shop (both a 20-30 minute walk). The site itself has nice pitches, and a useful shower and toilet block ( two of each). The owners are friendly and booking in is straightforward and relaxed even when the owners are not present at the time. Follow arrival directions in the book, esp. if you have a larger unit or a caravan, as there are some very, very tight roads in these parts!
A Hidden Gem
We love this site. We have been lucky enough to spend a good deal of time here. James is a kind and friendly host who has worked really hard to provide generous pitches in a beautiful farm setting. The site is quiet and peaceful with good clean facilities. We have found it easy to navigate the lanes surrounding the farm and have enjoyed visits to The Old Fox in Coaley which is a 20 minute walk away across the fields. We would recommend you visit this site if you want to stay in the area.
A perfect CL which we can recommend to everyone
This CL is conveniently located for visiting the area of the southern Cotswold, so much quieter and with more beautiful scenery than its more popular northern areas. The site is small but very well equipped, with an immaculate well maintained toilet block. The site is well maintained, and appears to be experiencing an upgrade with new plantings and surface stones. The final approach is narrow, so take care and drive slowly. The directions on the listing are detailed and easy to follow. If you are lucky enough to use the long southern pitch, then it is more private and very spacious, but retains good views. There are a few large cabins for hire adjacent to the site, but these do not detract from it at all. The Owner is a really nice gentleman who was both helpful and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will rebook if we decide to revisit the area.
Idyllic setting for a break from a long, tiresome M5 drive
This little CL is a gem . Only 20 mins at most from the M5 its a world away . The only noise is birdsong and the sheep bleating . Plenty of room for us and our campervan and not overlooked by other campers which included bigger motor homes comfortably parked . More challenging for caravanners I’d say . One of the charms of the site is the different levels and the little stream twisting around . But great hard standing . We appreciated the super clean bathrooms. There is a dog walk from the site ( through the field with sheep so on a lead) . It was so wet we stuck to the lane outside which was very quiet . It’s a busy working farm . Didn’t meet the owners but this was not a problem as everything we needed to know including excellent directions. The local area looked very beautiful and interesting . Lots of walking but we didn’t have time to explore. Will hopefully return.
We will be back!
We have read the reviews for this amazing place I n Coaley. We loved it. Booked 9 nights here and it was easy access to Shops and lovely local walks. It is a working farm and therefore the farm's day to day work is the most important. James mowed the grass once lambing had finished. An excellent pub in the village about 2 miles away. Or if you want peace and quiet, this place will not disappoint. Good walks on site and locally. 2 independent bathrooms on site with exclusive use. My only recommendation would be would be for slightly wider pitches on the hardstanding . Otherwise excellent. We will be back! Carol and Graham
Could have stayed longer
Finally got around to writing a review of this lovely site, we stayed there for a week during the May half-term and loved it. Firstly as others have said you must follow the instructions that James sends out, any other route will cause you issues, The site isn't huge and some of the pitches are sloping we were on the smallest pitch alongside the stream but we had lovely views across the countryside. The facilities consisting of 2 separate toilet and shower rooms were clean and the showers were plenty hot. But the best thing was just how peaceful it was although there are 3 lodges and a huge motor home nearby they didn't make the site feel crowded. The site is ideally located for Stroud and Bath both of which we visited. There is plenty of walking from the site and loads of lovely villages to explore in the vicinity. Definitely, a site to be revisited.

Do not follow Sat Nav. Leave M5 at junction 13 onto A38 (Bristol); in 3.25 miles turn left onto A4135 (Dursley); in 0.75 mile turn left at sign to Coaley; in about 3 miles (about 1 mile past church in Coaley) at sharp right bend continue straight on and immediately turn left at signpost to The Ham; in about 0.25 mile at left bend continue into farm entrance.
