Jiffy the Motorhome

A Fabulous site, with beautiful views. Gorgeous Cotswold village, lovely and quiet, with numerous footpaths and bridleways to choose from right outside of the site. Just up the road from the beautiful Bourton on the water. Most of the car parks have height restriction bars, the maximum we found was 3 metres, but because we visited in the school holidays, the school playing fields were allowing tourists to park for a £5 all day fee closing at 7pm, which we used every time we visited. The cricket ground did the same. From there we walked around the large nature reserve, and also walked to Great Slaughter and on to Upper Slaughter. There are a wide variety of shops for tourists to choose from, including a Christmas one, as well as the Coop for food shopping. Loads of food outlets. There's even a Wash.me laundry in the industrial estate should you need one!!! We will definitely return as there was so much a to do and see, but next time we'll definitely take the bikes.

So peaceful.

Just back from a scorching hot June week. One of the most peaceful CLs we’ve had the pleasure of visiting. Handy for exploring the Cotswold villages and towns. All the space you need and the only limit to your pitching options is the length of your cable. Lovely views with horses, sheep and plentiful bird life across the fields and tree tops. A very well thought out site with good solid water, electricity and waste facilities plus a very friendly and welcoming host.

Beautiful rural setting

Just a one night stay here for us but perfect. (On route with friends - also in a caravan - to the south coast. ) Peace and quiet and great views. We had the site to ourselves and enjoyed watching a barn owl hunting as the light started to fade. We didn’t actually see the owner but all went to plan - she had communicated really well. Would happily use this CL again - hopefully for longer!

A lovely site

A lovely site on which we have stayed five times over the years. A spacious site with a very welcoming host. Pleasant views from the caravan, especially if you like horses. Great dog walks too from the site as well as from many other locations that are easily reached.

Lovely campsite

We wished we could stay longer. Spacious well organised campsite with lovely views. Lots of footpaths and bridle ways with good walks from the campsite. Enjoyed lunch at the Nuttery.

Can't get any better?

We stayed in May. Wow! Located in picturesque village in a field tucked behind the church. A big site with encouragement to spread out. Very nice views over rolling Cotswold scenery. Some tall trees surround South and West views give brilliant sunsets worth a photo or two. Mainly lawn with cleaver use of long grass to ensure a spread out pitch choice. EHU points ideally located. Water and chemical disposal point fine. Farm is based based on horses but no problem at all. The owner is very welcoming. The local pub just a few minutes away seems to only open at weekends. Such a shame, as it looks a great place. Oh. Such a lovely CL and may well return!

Couldn't have been better

This peaceful, beautiful and spacious site brought to mind a quote: "Go anywhere in England where there are natural, wholesome, contented, and really nice English people; and what do you always find? That the stables are the real centre of the household." George Bernard Shaw. Despite being so busy with her horses, Miranda always had time for a friendly, helpful chat. As well as the usual facilities on a cl, there is a box of maps and guide books to borrow. Walks we did from the site were to Notgrove and Turkdean, and Naunton, and to Bourton on the Water and the Slaughters. The best part though was getting back to Longbrook Farm and enjoying the peace and the views. The Plough in Cold Aston is for sale and seems to be closed, but the Black Horse in Naunton is a lovely village local, and the Notgrove Nuttery makes a welcome refreshment stop. Online availability and booking via the website was very straightforward and complemented by Miranda's excellent communication. We wish we had been able to stay longer, but there's always next time.

Miranda was an excellent communicator

Really beautiful location and site for visiting the Cotswold villages. Miranda communicated really well, despite being away for the weekend we were staying, she ensured we knew everything we needed and checked up on us, to ensure we were ok. We were particularly unlucky with the weather, having had some of the worse rain I've every heard or experienced. We pitched our Motorhome on the grass, didn't use either of the hardstanding pitches set into the grass. We needed levelling blocks, but using these meant we could easily reverse off these, and drive straight onto the hardstanding driveway. The pitches aren't visible from the road, and its incredibly peaceful and relaxing. Hearing the village church bells just before 11am on Sunday morning was delightful. We ate in the Plough, note they have a rather limited menu, and definitely do not visit if not a meat eater!

Lovely CL

Lovely quiet picturesque and friendly CL. Short walk to the pub, and plenty of cycling and walking options. We use our van all year round, so appreciated the hard standing pitches. We also applaud the use of electricity meters. We don't use ehu so appreciated not paying for something we don't need! Water and elsan easily accessible. We look forward to returning in the summer.

Wonderful CL

This is a brilliant CL, not only for the site itself but also for the owner - Miranda. She is brilliant, so jolly, helpful and efficient. It’s a good secure site. The horses are delightful. The views are glorious over Cotswolds Hills in one direction, and you have the church behind you. We were a bit apprehensive on arrival as had asked for hardstanding pitch but initially couldn’t see them - there are actually two very well enhanced pitches in the middle of the campsite/field. We would definitely return, and cannot fault. Only feedback would be from a previous review that described cycle into Bourton as ‘easy’. They either have electric cycles or are much fitter. It is very straightforward and direct but very up and down a few challenging inclines but it is only 3 miles mainly along very quiet lane!
