Just had a long weekend at oast house and loved every minute, friendly welcome from the owners and a beautiful peaceful setting, the location is perfect for walkers and local pubs are nice too. will definitely return and would go as far to say the best CL ive stayed on. thank you

Different to what we are used to.

On arrival there was one pitch left which we assumed was ours. However this was not so, we were asked to move to another pitch which wasn't numbered. The reason being a sixth van was squeezed onto a CL designed for 5 'vans. Hooking up was different to what we were used to as well because you needed a three pin plug adapter for your hook up lead which was supplied by the owners. Wifi wasn't a good signal and was patchy to say the least. The welcome we had was warm and the flapjacks and scones were delicious and much appreciated. If you have a car and caravan you are well placed to visit Kent and the site is well maintained and immaculately kept and the owners were very accommodating.

A Snug Fit!

The peace and tranquility of this charming site were spoilt for us by being alongside a very noisy, busy road. We were unable to walk our dog from the site because of the speed of traffic along the narrow winding road - it ISN'T a lane. This meant that we were unable to wander into the village to the super little shop as we would have liked. There is a paddock, though for dogs to exercise. The site is two areas which are quite tight and we damaged our aerial on the low tree branches trying to pitch where we had been allocated. For several nights there were six vans which made it more of a squeeze. The farm next door had to switch their cooling fans on for the fruit and this gave a constant background noise although we weren't close enough for it to disturb us. The wifi, however, also belongs to the farm next door and is virtually non existent except in one far corner - not sure how this can be advertised? On the plus side, as others have noted, Mr and Mrs Fenton are very welcoming and friendly. The site is very well placed for visiting the area and we would heartily recommend The Anchor at Wingham for a meal.

Great CL site

Stayed here for a week in the glorious Kent sunshine. Great location for cycling and walking, plenty of quiet lanes and paths to explore, you can easily cycle to Canterbury and this whole corner of Kent including Sandwich and Deal. Site is kept immaculately and owners are very helpful. Would thoroughly recommend this site.

Directions : Turn Left off A257 Canterbury - Sandwich, on leaving Wingham signposted Preston onto Preston Hill. Continue through Preston, site on Right in 0.5 mile.
