Details : Pittlands Fishery Caravan Park is set in 13 acres of beautifully kept gardens and lakes in the village of Horsmonden in Kent. The site for the caravans is quiet and secure, although it is close to the lane. Each caravan has electric hook ups and lots of space. Water is available and the site offers a toilet block, including a disabled toilet and a shower (additional cost £2). Onsite we have a lovely café serving breakfasts and brunches. A range of confectionery and essentials are available to purchase. The lakes are well stocked for coarse fishing and make a lovely setting for a summers evening. The whole complex has a warm and friendly feel and is great for a relaxing break.

Horsmonden is an ideal base to travel around the local area, we have a variety of National Trust properties within easy reach, the Spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells is no more than a 15 minute drive and is a great place for restaurants, cafés, bars and shopping. Maidstone is about 20 minutes and offers lots of shopping and bars. We have around 5 or so pubs within a ten minute drive to sample local produce and ales. Bewl Bridge reservoir with its renowned trout fishing and walks is no more than 15 minutes away and if you want the beaches of Camber sands or Hastings they are within 30 miles. For those more adventurous, the fast train to London is in Paddock Wood, a mere 3.6 miles away.

Lovely site great fishing

Great site lovely grounds and fishing lakes very relaxing. Conveniently near local shops and attractions. Owner and gardner very helpful ,nice to see the fishermen and have a chat.Would definitely visit again.

good for fishing

We found the site to be very easy going and no one bothers you and the pitches were in a lovely spot BUT there is a downside. Why the facilities state the toilets are exclusive to the caravanners I do not know because the fishermen use them as indeed they can use the showers and there lies the problem---the cleanliness of both leave a lot to be desired. The whole time we were there the toilet was never cleaned in fact I had to clean up at times. The "warden" has a full time job so you hardly ever saw him and the gardener also had a full time job but he was extremely helpful when approached. On one occasion I had a fisherman knocking on the shower door demanding I hurry up ( no doubt that when I left he would enter even though admittance was with a key that costs £2.00 a day---thus bumping up the cost of a stay-----better value at other sites without a doubt!!) I have to say that even with all these concerns we enjoyed our stay the wildlife helped But don't expect cleanliness to be the top priority.A shame because this site could be a top CL.

Good for fishing

Nice area for caravans but no gates. There was a lot of rain when we went and the ground was very boggy, we had to use mats to get out using our motor mover. It's next to the carpark where the fishermen park, sometimes very early. Although it backs onto a small road, there are large lorries that go back and forth to some kind of depot further down and also large tractors, so can be noisy if your parked against that hedge. The toilet really wasn't very pleasant so we used our own facilities. We would not return, it was not for us but I expect it is great if you're someone that fishes. The fishing area was very attractive and laid out well. Good access to local National Trust properties.
