Lakeside Caravan Site
Thornton Lodge Farm has a picturesque and private 5CL adult only caravan site which overlooks the peaceful freshwater trout lakes. The views from the site are breathtaking and our fantastic rural location means you are guaranteed a relaxing and tranquil break. With no noise but the distant sheep and the birds you can be assured of a good night’s sleep and an equally relaxing day. The site has immediate access from the road, electric hookups, a chemical disposal point as well as a BBQ and picnic area. Dogs are welcome providing they are well behaved but must be kept on a lead.
There are footpaths, bridle paths and the National Cycle Route 65 goes past the caravan site.
We are extremely lucky to have super local pubs and restaurants around offering really good food including Michelin star places.
We are situated between the moors and dales and have National Trust properties nearby and many historic buildings with York is only 20mins away. More information on our Web Site

This is a fantastic site. It is very much back to basics but that is what we wanted. There is electricity on site and as long as you have a shower/toilet in your caravan then you will have no issues. The owners are great and easy to deal with. We booked in last minute and they were great with that. We also were due to arrive on the Friday night but weren't able to get there till the saturday morning and they didn't charge us for the Friday. We could have arrived at whatever time we wanted on the Friday night but in the end we got there on the Saturday morning at about 10am and they were fine with this. The only thing that I would say is that you need to drive past the Thornton Lodge Farm signage as the CL site is just past this (past the house on the right). It was lovely sitting in our caravan with nothing to do but look out over the pond and listen to nature. Perfect for a rural retreat but with good access to the local village of Easingwold.
