Details : Glebe Farm is set in the idyllic village of Wroxeter, 4 miles East of Shrewsbury on the B4380. In walking distance are the famous Roman Vineyard and the Wroxeter Roman City and also adjacent is Wroxeter Hotel. The site is very tranquil and sheltered, set on a small farm. The pitches are spacious on a large level area of field, which is actually a Roman scheduled monument in our ownership. There are views of the vineyard, the resident alpacas are alongside and views of the Wrekin, a local land mark.
Shrewsbury medieval town is some 4 miles away and is the birthplace of Charles Darwin. It is known as the town of flowers and the Dingle in the Quarry Park in the town centre was created by the famous gardener Percy Thrower. There are many individual shops along with the well known major stores. In August each year the Shrewsbury Flower Show is held in the Quarry Park which is second to Chelsea in size.

Facilities : Electric hook available, Suitable for Caravans & Motorhomes, Grass pitches, TV reception good, Dogs allowed.

Open : 01 Mar - 31 Oct

Pitch Fee : from £8

Very nice quiet CL

This is a lovely little site pretty much hidden from passing traffic. When we were there Alpacas were in the adjacent field. The Wroxeter Roman villa site is well worth a visit and is within walking distance. The roman vineyard is also close by and does some interesting guided tours of the vineyard and wine tasting with afternoon teas etc. Good English wine! The site is also handy for other attractions including the Acton Scott Victorian farm, Much Wenlock priory - Get in the queue early for the butchers shop in the town centre! Attingham Hall National Trust property, Buildwas Abbey, The 10 elements of the Ironbridge gorge museum are all quite close. Highly recommended.

Good CL, but not where it is indicated

This CL is a recent addition to the network and was too late to be included in the 2015/16 directory. However, the pinpoint, OS map reference and directions are all inaccurate. Yes, the site is behind Wroxeter Hotel, but you won't pass the hotel unless you have taken a wrong turn! The correct map ref is 564084. The directions should read ... after crossing River Severn bridge at Atcham take right turn onto B4380 SP Wroxeter, Ironbridge. In half mile, turn right at Roman City, SP Wroxeter, Eyton on Severn. In 500 yds, turn sharp left (narrow) and site is 100yds on right. The field is large and level, good grass which was cut again during our stay. The waste is behind a screened area in corner of field, bins & elsan. The pinpoint is about 20 miles off target! Mrs Millington came to see us the morning after our arrival and gifted us half a dozen eggs. She has further plans to develop the facilities idc with an information hut. We mentioned the above and she assured us that the club site officer was left to complete the entry, directions etc. We encouraged her to contact the club herself, because they are so wrong. Our week stay was quiet and peaceful being the only van all week. Perhaps any others are still searching for the site! We cycled to Ironbridge then S
